INFANTS
Montessori Teacher
Maria Jenkins is a Montessori Teacher in Infants at the Buckhead Campus. She joined the school in 1996 after relocating from Texas. Suzuki is a second family to Maria and her children, who all attended Suzuki!
When Maria first joined the school she taught in Level 1 utilizing a traditional curriculum. She has found that using Montessori Methods with the infants is even more hands on and natural, and better covers all aspects of learning for these very young children. When you watch Maria in the classroom, you can see that she develops a strong bond with each young infant. She has stayed with Suzuki over the years because she knows that Suzuki has always strived to honor each child and has always invested in hiring and developing teachers who have a compassion to teach children at an early age.
In her spare time, Maria likes to swim, read mysteries, bake cookies, and visit anything pertaining to art. She feels very fortunate that her children were given a head start by attending Suzuki, because being a single parent of three has not always been easy.
Maria attended Rhode Island College and studied Fine Art. Ms. Jenkins is a certified Infant-Toddler Montessori Teacher with the American Montessori Society.
